JUST POPPING IN

I just popped in, literally, to introduce myself. My name is Professor Phileas Photon. I’m a time traveling seeker of knowledge. I will be materializing in this time and space every now and then to visit Doc Freak and keep you up on my interests. I’m not a Time Lord like The Doctor, but an ordinary human scientist with a brain the size of a planet. Technically, the brain isn’t the size of a planet and it’s not mine. The Brain belongs 9-K and it is he who allows me to travel throughout time. I didn’t have time travel in mind when designed 9-K to be an AI. I guess he read too much H.G. Wells and one thing lead to another. Eat your heart out Orac! I must adjust 9-K‘s neural interface before I pop off for more adventures in knowledge. Oh, and pardon the picture. A picture showing me in detail would have serious repercussions in the time continuum - or at least there would be a lot of explaining to do! Be seeing you.

BONES BUTTING IN!

Freak may be the moderator of this blog, but I’m the brains of this genre guarding gazette! That’s me, Bill E. Bones, the only undersized skeleton zombie willing to share a blog with Freak. Yes, I call him Freak because it suits him better than his surname. The false-bearded freak that’s pulling my strings, thinks he’s putting words in my boney jaws, but I have certain powers of mental manipulation that allow me to put one over on the mundane maniac! After all, if I can bamboozle a 150-year-old Necromancer, than Mr. Mundane should be a pushover. No, I’m not wasting my time here explaining who Zombzany the Necromancer is. I’ll let “Doc” Freak fill you in on that bloated windbag if he wants to. Back to the matters at hand – boney as they may be: I spend as much time as Freak keeping up with the latest in films, books and music, so don’t be surprised when I pipe in with my opinions on all things genre on this blog too. Keep reading, because these bad ass bones won’t give you a bum steer!

WELCOME TO THE WICKED GOOD!

Welcome to the pages of what I hope will be many informal chats about the many virtues of the Great and Good Genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror. I am the self-imposed moderator of this blog, Fritz “Doc” Freakenstein. I’ve been accused many times of being a fictional character; or at the very least being an alternate personality for an otherwise normal seeming middle-aged man. I say this is a bald faced lie! If anything, Freakenstein is the driving force of my creative being and the spark that ignites the torch that shines a bright light on my many interests! I won’t often look back to past glories, but will instead concentrate on looking to current and future genre-specific projects by some of my favorite artists, writers and musicians of the many and varied media to which I am currently enamored. So, please be patient, because what at times may seem to be the babblings of a raving madman, will eventually lead to enlightenment, entertainment and encouragement to seek out, explore and engage in the wonders of the human imagination! Or as I may more frequently say: Welcome to the wicked good!
